Is Arizona moving up in the Pac-10 pecking order? A bowl appearance and win for the first time this decade has people in Tuscon thinking so.
To keep momentum moving forward, the Wildcats will have to navigate a daunting road schedule that will have them at Oregon State, Iowa, Cal, USC and Arizona State. The Oregon State game figures to be a season defining moment. A win figures to catapault them into a 3-1 or 4-0 start going into the softest part of the schedule. They could find themselves right in the thick of the Pac-10 race going into November which would make for great theater with games again Cal, Oregon, ASU and USC all taking place in the last month.
Of course, for a program that has been starved of any limelight for a decade, it’s easier said than done. Arizona is a team that could go either way. A top 4 finish seems just as likely as a bottom 4 finish. The bet here is that the Wildcats find themselves fighting for a bowl berth and will need to rack up wins early before its difficult finish with 3 of 4 on the road.
