The Blog Has Arrived in Eugene

Due to the nature of my visit to Eugene this weekend (surprise and happy birthday to the Mother of the Fiance of the Blog, or MOTFOTB), I’ve been mum all week about the fact that I’m attending the game.

I could not be more excited right now to be here. I say that not really knowing how I’m feeling at the moment this is posted as it’s pre-written. I guess I assume I’m excited. It’s probably raining and I’m probably thinking flip-flops and shorts were a bad choice (but it was sunny when I left San Diego!).

Two weeks ago, this wasn’t happening and I was trying to convince myself to enjoy it from afar. That didn’t work, so here I am along with the FOTB, back in Mecca for the first time since Houston in 2007. It’s good to be back.

The hardest part about this trip was figuring out what to wear to the game when all you have is green and yellow. Yeah, an odd problem to have.

Anyway, you’ll have to excuse me. There are festivities in which I must partake.

You surely had to have enjoyed yourself for that one. What a win for the ages.

My ears are still ringing! What a game. Ducks O was unstoppable in the second half. 613 yards of offense on the Trojans. And props to the D for stopping the potent USC offense. What a win!! :-)

The polls are out and the Ducks are the highest ranked team with a loss. In the AP we’re even ahead of Iowa (9-0).

Celebration time ends in a few hours. Then it is all about Stanford. Don’t even mention bowl possibilities. Much too soon. Four tough games ahead.

Every game is a season. Focus on Stanford. Win.
