Standings matter because the Pac-10 standings dictate what bowl we will go to. The national rankings only matter for the Championship game and we never had a shot at that even if we had won out.

The last game is just that – the last game. Win or lose it no longer has relevance to the team which must stay focused on the next game – the only one that matters at this point in time.

I see you are getting wiser. I too learned that coaches will be at risk to make the same mistakes they’ve made in previous games. Rankings do matter if you want to play in the championship bowl. Not sure how anyone can claim Rankings don’t matter. If every game is a season, then we got our butts kicked all of last season.

Let’s not forget, we were only 30 yards from another 600 yard + game. Offense seems OK to me. The defense finally gave in (Gotta love that “Bend but don’t break” (only crack)defense. I thought we’d see LaGarrette this time around.

It was rough, but Stanford is still a great game day setting. I was impressed with the stadium and we all still had a great time.

I’m really not that worried about us. Stanford was just a bad matchup.

Good article! This team is fun to watch, even when they lose. Stanford is the kind of team that will give the defense fits. Pac-10 is a roller-coaster, be prepared for a wild ride!

Wilner is a bum, a joke artist in the world of journalism. He may have been right, but he always bets against the Ducks. His analysis is crap. Sure he may be “dead on” this week, but it is the only week. And it sure does look good when you are so in the dumps and bet the house on it…doesn’t it Wilner? Eff Wilner, for anyone to ever give that chump any credit should reevaluate what they are saying. Wilner goes down in the books as a complete turd like Bob Uecker!
