Oregon and LSU will officially kick off the 2011 season against each other in the Cowboys Classic. It’s the same game Oregon State just played in versus TCU.
I’m not really a big fan of opening weekend big boy matchups. As we saw this weekend, teams sport a lot of rust in the first game. Oregon loses a chunk of the offensive line and if the 2009 Boise game was any indication, that’s not a good thing.
Buuuut… When you get a chance to play in a game like this, you gotta’ go for it. It’s basically a high profile preseason bowl game in a state with a lot of talented high school kids that Chip Kelly would like to impress.
And hey, you always have to like your chances against this guy.

Im excited for the oregon football program. LSU will be a great start to the 2011 season.
New Mexico was way to weak for this team. Lets start out strong for next year even if it means a first loss. nothing ventured nothing gained.
