Off The Pond has been upgraded! While the community is still in beta mode, users now have more features to become part of the site.
Alumni and Watch Party Groups
I know as well as anyone the isolation, sadness and countless Saturday nights spent crying in the bedroom at the thought of not being near the home of Oregon Duck football (and those other sports, too).
That’s why Off The Pond now features individual community pages for every watch party and alumni group across the country. Each one has details posted for your local watch party. From there, group admins can post status updates and alert members to new events in your city.
Statuses, Friends, and Messages, Oh My!
Every registered user has their own profile section that can be updated. You can post messages to the activity feed for everyone to see or send something private to another member (keep it clean, people!).
You can also connect to other members or deny them friendship and send them into utter despair.
This is beta time, so it’s all very new. Bugs will be found, features will be light and design will be simple. Your feedback is appreciated and I will do my best to build it up over time.
Fun With Comments
The new commenting system will now publish your thoughts on a post to the site activity feed for all to see. You can also rate individual comments as well as posts from Off The Pond.
What The Future May Bring
If the community grows, I’ll begin featuring more member activity and making it easier for you to interact. It won’t happen overnight but we’re off and running! Of course, you’ll still get the same great posts from yours truly (oh, the ego!), but it’s nice to have a say sometimes, huh?
